New Year, New Projects for 2024 to present

Ryder Brow Pocket Park was funded by Greater Manchester Environment Fund. It is located at Ryder Brow Allotment, Far Lane, Gorton, Manchester, M18 7FF. Follow the footpath from Far Lane to the other end and you will reach the open space destination at Wayland Road cul-de-sac (M18 7HA). We began by removing brambles, weeds and fly-tipped rubbish.

Dedicated volunteers from the community planted up and maintained the areas every week, from Spring to Autumn. Collectively, they designed the signage for the pocket park. The community and nature now have unlimited access to harvest fruits like apples, pears, blue berries, gooseberries, raspberries, black and red currants. There's a range of herbs and flowers too, in flower borders and raised planter beds. The community celebrated the end of project during Open Day on 20th October 2024.
